IS IT LEGAL?
In the USA and Canada, Yes! In the rest of the world, we don't know, but can't see a reason why not. The unit replicates what could be done manually by rapidly depressing the brake lever, although much faster and you aren't braking when the lever is released. Of course, we have to cover our backs, and the disclaimer below applies.

Not as far as we know. In stop/go traffic, the unit will only reactivate if 8 seconds have passed since the last brake release. 8 seconds was chosen as the optimum time following extensive testing.

CAN IT BE USED WITH LED LIGHTS?
Yes, in fact the effect is even more dramatic with LED lights as they turn on and off much faster than tungsten filament lamps. (UPDATE: We now produce our BMLED-1FG Brake Light Modulator which has been specifically designed for LED Lighting clusters, but please note that this model may or may not be legal for use on public roads in the USA and Canada).

The unit will work on all 12 volt NEGATIVE GROUND systems. The exceptions are low end scooters which power their tail/brake lights direct from the engine magneto. The easy way to check is as follows: If you can turn on your tail/brake lights with the engine NOT running, it's OK, otherwise, sorry, it won't work. Some very old/classic bikes have a POSITIVE GROUND and the unit cannot be used with these. If you have any doubt, please contact us and we'll do our best to help.

IS THERE A WARRANTY?
Yes, 12 months from the date of purchase. Repair or replacement if the unit fails in normal use. This does not cover damage arising from incorrect installation or exceeding the maximum design load of the unit. Your statutory rights are not affected.
